I. Business Background

Operation Period: July – August 2025

Cargo Details: Measurement and positioning equipment, totaling 20 pieces / 565.8 KGS / 3.66 CBM. The cargo consisted of mixed dimensions and varying individual weights, arriving at the warehouse as loose freight in multiple batches.

Service Requirements: Proxy pickup in Hong Kong, warehouse receiving, repacking and palletizing, air freight export, and destination delivery.

Routing: Hong Kong, China (HKG) Luanda (LAD) Cabinda (CAB).

II. Unexpected Challenges and Realogistics' Solutions

This project involved tedious front-end cargo sorting and faced extreme force majeure at the destination. Relying on solid operational fundamentals and extensive experience in handling overseas emergencies, the Realogistics team steadily resolved three major challenges:

1. Mixed Loose Freight Dimensions and Strict Document Data Requirements

Challenge: The cargo arrived at the Realogistics Hong Kong warehouse in three separate batches. Since the client required highly accurate volume and weight data for customs clearance documents, and the sensitive instruments were prone to collision damage, the original packaging was unsuitable for direct air freight.

Realogistics Solution: Realogistics assigned two senior warehouse supervisors to oversee this shipment. During the sorting phase, we implemented a strict "double verification" process for every single item—weighing twice on electronic scales and measuring three times with a tape measure (taking the minimum value) to ensure the data provided to the client was flawless. During palletization, we strictly followed the stacking principle of "heavy under light, large under small," individually secured irregular pieces, added shock-absorbing materials, and wrapped the pallets tightly with high-strength stretch film.

2. Remote Enclave Destination with No Direct Flights

Challenge: The final destination was Cabinda (an Angolan exclave). There are no direct flights from Hong Kong, making transshipment mandatory.

Realogistics Solution: Based on the actual capacity of African air routes, the Realogistics operations team designed a "dual-leg transshipment" solution. For the first leg, we arranged Emirates (EK) via Dubai to Luanda, the capital of Angola. For the second leg, we seamlessly connected with TAAG Angola Airlines' (DT) domestic flight to Cabinda, accurately controlling the total Door-to-Door transit time to 7-11 working days.

3. Sudden Flight Suspensions Due to Controls, Testing Emergency Dispatch Capabilities

Challenge: The first-leg flight landed safely in Luanda. However, due to sudden local controls, the cargo was stranded at the airport, causing both delivery delays and potential security risks.

Realogistics Solution: Facing this sudden crisis, Realogistics reacted swiftly by completing the import pre-clearance in advance and immediately transferring the cargo to a bonded warehouse in Luanda for safe storage. Meanwhile, Realogistics headquarters closely monitored the situation and firmly secured space on the first available flights post-resumption . Once the controls were lifted, the reserved space was instantly activated. The cargo was successfully loaded in the early hours of the next day, flown to Cabinda, and swiftly delivered by our local agent.

III. Case Summary

From the meticulous front-end sorting and palletizing to the cross-border transshipment routing, and calmly handling the sudden flight suspension crisis, Realogistics demonstrated remarkable operational resilience in this project.

Realogistics not only provides customized routine transport solutions but also leverages its robust overseas network and emergency response mechanisms to safeguard clients' cargo when faced with uncontrollable risks.
