Realogistics completed the EXW air freight forwarding service for oversized cargo from Switzerland to Shanghai

In the global freight forwarding sector, Realogistics has achieved outstanding results with its precise and efficient logistics services. From April 17 to April 19, 2024, Realogistics successfully completed a special freight forwarding task: the safe transport of an oversized rotary feeder from a factory in Switzerland to Shanghai Pudong Airport.

Project Challenges
The main challenges faced in this project were concentrated on the length and complexity of the cargo. Transporting oversized air freight not only requires extensive knowledge of freight logistics but also an experienced professional transport team. During this process, Realogistics maintained close cooperation with customers and airlines, discussing in detail box lifting points, disassembly plans, and reinforcement strategies to ensure the safe loading and unloading of the cargo.
Particularly in cases where the cargo had a unique structure and an uneven center of gravity, the shipper required that forklifts not be used, and cranes must be employed instead. However, due to the limitations imposed by transporting oversized items, the choices of airlines were restricted, and routes were also limited. While LGG Airport could perform the lift without issues, EHU Airport lacked crane equipment.
After thorough consultation with the customer, we decided to use three forklifts operating simultaneously at EHU, successfully facilitating the transfer of the cargo. This flexible solution demonstrated Realogistics' innovative capability in handling complex issues and its customer-centric service philosophy.
Project Achievements
Through the successful transportation of this oversized air freight, Realogistics once again showcased its expertise in handling special cargo shipments. We ensured the safe and intact delivery of the cargo and completed the transportation task on time, maximizing customer satisfaction.
