Realogistics: HK to Thailand Sea Freight for Tent Kits

In November 2025, Realogistics undertook a critical assignment: to transport a batch of large tent kits from Hong Kong to a branch in Phuket, Thailand, to meet the client's sales needs. This task, due to its special cargo dimensions and complex operational environment, posed a substantial test to Realogistics' professional operational capabilities.

Cargo Details:

• Large Wooden Crate: Dimensions 489 x 46 x 118 cm / 1 piece, Gross Weight 780 kg.

• Extra-Long Items: Dimensions 350 x 40 x 30 cm / 2 pieces, Single Piece Gross Weight 50 kg.

• Palletized Cargo: Dimensions 120 x 80 x 55 cm / 1 pallet (containing 5 cartons).

Operational Challenges and Realogistics' Professional Solutions:

1. Hoisting Challenge at a Remote Yuen Long Warehouse: The large wooden crate was stored at the client's remote warehouse in Yuen Long, New Territories, an area with narrow roads and dense surrounding buildings. Realogistics' operations team, leveraging extensive on-site experience and collaborating closely with the crane operator, meticulously completed the crate's collection in an extremely confined space. This ensured no damage to the cargo or surrounding facilities, fully demonstrating precise on-site management capabilities.

2. Special Handling Requirements at a Sheung Wan Office Building in Hong Kong: The two extra-long items, each 3.5 meters in length, were located in an old building where the client's Sheung Wan office was situated. Due to the building's structural limitations, access to the elevator lobby required ascending one flight of stairs, and the extra-long items exceeded the elevator's capacity. Realogistics swiftly dispatched professional moving personnel who, by employing manual stair-carrying methods, overcame the staircase restrictions and successfully and safely removed the extra-long items from the office floor. This exemplified Realogistics' quick adaptability and efficient execution in challenging environments.

Cargo Processing and Full Transportation Journey:

1. Wooden Crate Reinforcement Plan: Upon the cargo's return to Realogistics' warehouse, inspection revealed that the client's self-made wooden crate was made of thin material and had localized damage. To ensure long-distance transportation safety while also considering cost-effectiveness, Realogistics' logistics technical team quickly formulated and implemented a reinforcement plan. This involved adding metal reinforcement plates, using high-strength steel straps for bundling, and rebuilding the bottom support legs of the crate on the existing structure, thereby comprehensively enhancing the crate's structural integrity and protective capabilities.

2. Palletization and Loading Operations: The 5 carton boxes were professionally palletized, secured, and uniformly marked with standardized labels. Subsequently, all cargo was efficiently and safely loaded into containers, preparing them fully for ocean freight export.

3. Customs Clearance and Last-Mile Delivery in Thailand: Upon the cargo's arrival in Thailand, Realogistics' local agent team worked closely with Bangkok Customs, efficiently completing the customs clearance procedures. Following this, the agent arranged for professional trucks to safely transport and deliver the cargo from Bangkok to the designated consignee in Phuket, ensuring a smooth and seamless logistics chain throughout.
