Project Overview
Realogistics began providing warehousing and global door-to-door delivery services for the operational consumables of a certain airline.
• Service Items: Blank boarding passes, luggage tags, labels, stickers, paper forms, baby stroller plastic bags, adhesive tape, uniforms, cabin baggage sizing units, retractable belt stanchions, etc.
Customer Service Requirements
1. Inbound/Warehousing: Domestic suppliers deliver goods directly to the Realogistics warehouse. Upon receipt, Realogistics is required to arrange for photography, inventory counting, and subsequent putaway.
2. Sorting: The client places monthly orders based on the replenishment volume needed for each overseas station. Warehouse staff arrange picking and sorting accordingly.
3. Outbound & Delivery: After sorting, shipments are booked using the airline's own cargo space. The goods are then delivered to the Hong Kong check-in counters or export terminals (passing through X-ray screening). Upon arrival at the destinations, Realogistics' local agents handle customs clearance and final delivery.
Operational Challenges & Realogistics' Core Advantages
• Challenge 1: High Threshold for IOR Customs Clearance Across Global Locations
• The Challenge: Staff at overseas stations cannot handle customs clearance independently. Goods need to be shipped to over a dozen countries and regions—including Taiwan (China), Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Canada—and must be cleared using the IOR (Importer of Record) model.
• Realogistics' Advantage (Overseas Network): Relying on a robust global agency network , Realogistics strictly prepares invoices and packing lists in accordance with local customs requirements. By accurately extracting customs declaration elements based on product photos and materials, we provide precise information to local agents, ensuring smooth clearance worldwide.
• Challenge 2: Restricted and Time-Consuming Last-Mile Handling inside Terminals
• The Challenge: Delivery points are mostly located inside airport terminals, and the paper-based consumables are heavy. Taking Hong Kong as an example, pallet jacks (manual forklifts) are prohibited inside the terminal, allowing only small-capacity luggage trolleys to be used. Furthermore, the distance from the unloading zone to the check-in counters is approximately 400 meters, meaning a single delivery round trip takes over an hour to complete.
• Realogistics' Advantage (Last-Mile Fulfillment): Leveraging a flexible outsourced fleet and strong manpower dispatch capabilities , Realogistics arranges sufficient extra personnel to execute the high-intensity manual handling for the "last mile," perfectly resolving delivery bottlenecks in restricted operational environments.
Summary
Faced with complex customs clearance requirements and highly challenging last-mile delivery scenarios, Realogistics successfully overcame these obstacles through its strong overseas resources and customized service capabilities, successfully establishing itself as a trusted, long-term partner for the client.
