As the globally anticipated Mobile World Congress (MWC) and major new product launches are about to begin, the cross-border transportation of exhibition items and event materials has become a top priority. This January, right during the peak international logistics period ahead of the Chinese New Year, Realogistics received a challenging and urgent commission: to provide air freight services for a batch of core exhibition items for an important client. Facing strict time constraints and complex cargo properties, Realogistics rose to the challenge, delivering another satisfactory result through refined management and professional operations. Today, we will deeply analyze this highly difficult transportation case for you.

I. Project Overview

Transportation Mode: International Air Freight

Cargo Volume: A total of 20,824 pcs, gross weight of 5.2 tons, volume of 36 cubic meters.

Cargo Type: High-confidentiality smart devices (mobile phones/tablets), smart mobility devices (scooters), and peripheral accessories.

II. Project Challenges

1. Highly Complex Cargo Properties (Containing Lithium Batteries): This batch of cargo contained a large number of lithium batteries, which fall under the category of dangerous goods. Furthermore, some items initially lacked the relevant transportation appraisal reports, creating immense pressure for compliance reviews.

2. Chinese New Year Peak Coupled with Upgraded Security Checks, Making Timing Difficult to Control: The project timeline was close to the Lunar New Year. Cargo volumes at major airports surged, and security check levels were comprehensively upgraded, resulting in extreme uncertainty regarding flight space and operational lead times.

3. Primitive Packaging with High Risk of Damage: The cargo included a large number of fragile items, some of which were in a "bare" state without outer packaging. In long-distance cross-border transportation, they were highly susceptible to physical damage.

III. Realogistics' Customized Solutions

1. Establishing a Core Support Team for Rapid Response: Realogistics immediately mobilized key personnel to form a "Special MWC Project Team," assigning responsibilities to every operational node. Simultaneously, an "issue escalation and reporting mechanism" was established to ensure that any client request received a rapid response and proper resolution.

2. 100% Comprehensive Source Verification to Eliminate Hidden Dangers: Addressing the complex cargo properties, Realogistics decisively abandoned conventional spot checks during the receiving stage and executed "precise piece-by-piece (pcs) verification." From outer packaging to SKUs, and strictly matching the actual battery-containing products with their appraisal reports one by one, we solidified the compliance foundation at the source, avoiding subsequent delays in customs clearance and security checks.

3. Breaking up the Whole into Parts and Formulating a Split-Shipment Strategy: Faced with goods of different dangerous goods classifications, Realogistics did not adopt a "one-size-fits-all" model. Instead, we scientifically formulated a "split-processing" plan. This effectively isolated risks, ensuring that even if an individual item encountered documentation issues, it would not delay the entire 5.2-ton batch of core materials.

4. Packaging Remodeling: Putting "Armor" on Fragile Goods: For fragile bare goods and highly confidential equipment, Realogistics demonstrated professional packaging capabilities:

  • High-Confidentiality Equipment: Exclusively customized secure boxes to ensure absolute physical isolation and safety during transit.

  • Fragile Items: Custom-sized wooden crates were built on-site, with professional soft cushioning linings added inside, reducing the damage rate to zero.

5. 360° Full-Process Visibility, Extending the Safety Line to the Last Mile:

  • Transparent Operations: The entire process, from receiving, sorting, and verifying to packing, was conducted under CCTV surveillance, achieving 100% traceability.

  • High-Standard Delivery: For the final mile delivery, Realogistics specially dispatched vehicles meeting the high-security standards of TAPA (Transport Asset Protection Association) certification and provided real-time GPS tracking of cargo status to escort the last mile.

IV. Final Delivery: Fulfilling the Trust with Perfect Execution Relying on years of practical experience deeply rooted in the international logistics field and the meticulous deployment of this project, Realogistics successfully overcame multiple obstacles such as warehouse overflow during the Chinese New Year, upgraded security checks, and strict inspections of dangerous goods. Ultimately, the core event materials, totaling over 20,000 pieces and 5.2 tons, were delivered safely, intact, and on time to the client's designated location. This not only guaranteed the smooth execution of the client's MWC exhibition and product launch but also won the client's high praise and trust.

Behind every globally anticipated product launch is a supply chain that allows no room for error. Realogistics always adheres to the service philosophy of "Professional, Safe, and Efficient." Whether it is general cargo or high-difficulty challenges involving "battery-containing, confidential, fragile, or urgently needed" items, Realogistics can provide customized logistics solutions.
