【Project Overview】
• Business Model: ATA Carnet (Exhibition Materials)
• Origin/Destination: Shanghai, China to Germany (via Rotterdam, Netherlands / Hamburg, Germany)
• Departure Date: January 2026
• Transport Specification: 1*40HC FCL (Full Container Load) Ocean Freight
• Commodity: Class 9 battery-powered robots and ancillary exhibition supplies
【Service Scope】 For this project, Realogistics provided the client with a comprehensive "door-to-door" one-stop supply chain service . This included: application and processing of the ATA Carnet and Dangerous Goods Package Certificate, ocean freight booking, container stuffing, dangerous goods declaration, export customs clearance, overseas customs clearance, and final door-to-door delivery to the exhibition hall.
Core Difficulties & Challenges
1. Complex Documentation and Tight Clearance Schedule: The cargo contained Class 9 dangerous goods, requiring a Dangerous Goods Package Certificate. Furthermore, the issuance of the ATA Carnet is typically slow and requires paper-based declarations. The extensive documentation and cumbersome procedures demanded seamless coordination across all operational stages.
2. Unstable Sailing Schedules and Uncontrollable Factors: European maritime routes involve long transit times, making ocean freight schedules highly volatile and unpredictable.
3. Sudden Vessel Delays and Approaching Exhibition Dates: During transit, the vessel experienced severe schedule delays, significantly extending the actual transit time beyond expectations. The estimated arrival time was perilously close to the exhibition's opening date, drastically increasing the pressure for timely delivery.
Solutions and Core Advantages
Advantage 1: Efficient Government-Enterprise Synergy, Breaking Routine Declaration Limits To address the slow issuance of the ATA Carnet and the challenges of dangerous goods declaration, Realogistics proactively established an efficient communication mechanism between the client and the Chamber of Commerce, greatly accelerating document processing. Simultaneously, Realogistics precisely mobilized port drayage fleets and customs brokers, tracking port dynamics in real-time. By innovatively adopting an "Advanced Gate-in Mode" to accurately match the declaration window, the team successfully bypassed weekend customs duty limitations, recovering precious time.
Advantage 2: Comprehensive Resource Integration, Customizing the Optimal Shipping Plan In the early stages of shipment preparation, Realogistics conducted in-depth evaluations of various carriers' capacity plans. By comprehensively considering transit times, freight costs, and other dimensions, we tailored the most cost-effective shipping plan for the client. We ensured not a single day was wasted, truly achieving a "ship upon cargo readiness" standard.
Advantage 3: 24/7 Tracking During Holidays, Agilely Resolving the Delay Crisis When the vessel encountered severe delays during ocean transit—coinciding with the Chinese Spring Festival holidays— Realogistics maintained daily tracking of the vessel's dynamics to accurately forecast transit times . Upon assessing that the original plan to discharge at the Port of Hamburg would fail to meet the exhibition deadline, Realogistics acted decisively. We immediately proposed an emergency contingency plan to the client: "divert and discharge at the Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands," which was promptly approved. Following discharge, Realogistics swiftly coordinated with our German overseas agent to initiate the T1 transit procedure . By resolving issues the moment they arose throughout the entire process, we significantly reduced the cargo's waiting time during transit.
Project Summary
This Class 9 dangerous goods ATA exhibition transportation project served as a true testament to Realogistics' core service principles: professional, efficient, rigorous, and agile . Faced with multiple obstacles such as complex documentation, vessel delays, and communication barriers during holidays, Realogistics successfully overcame these transportation challenges relying on excellent contingency planning and global network synergy. We ensured the safe and on-time delivery of the client's exhibits, fully safeguarding their successful participation in the event.
